Honoring Those That Serve Our Country
By Mark Elliott
Today is Veterans Day.
With legislation passed on June 1, 1954, Nov. 11 was set aside to recognize the American veterans of all wars. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, there are more than 12 million veterans in the United States.
We appreciate those who serve and have served our country. Sprint has about 1,500 employees who identify themselves as veterans and 50 employees currently deployed.
We are committed to supporting and hiring military veterans and their families. Sprint offers a variety of programs to help support veterans, including military discounts to current and former military veterans.
Our commitment lies in our recruiting efforts targeted specifically at members of the military and veterans, including:
- Job postings on military bases and transition offices, military job websites and universities
- Military Transition Workshops to translate military skills to civilian jobs, build identity/personal brand, network and create a road to success
- Training for recruiters to help translate skills between military and civilian positions
- Military Occupational Specialty (MOS) skills translator on www.sprint.com/careers
Remember those that serve.
