This is HUGE.
This afternoon – in a company first – Sprint hosted a joint news conference with Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel at Sprint’s Hyde Park Sprint store.
Sprint announced a bold commitment to the city – Sprint for Chicago. This incredible collaboration between the city and Sprint will improve Sprint’s network infrastructure in Chicago, add more than 540 new jobs and open more than 115 retail stores by the end of 2015.
Sprint also announced a donation of $250,000 to the Connect Chicago Challenge, a city-wide effort to make Chicago the most skilled, most connected, most dynamic digital city in the world.
There were about 40 people in attendance, including Chicago media and VIPs. It was a memorable day for all Sprint employees in the Chicago area.
“The timing to go big again with Chicago couldn’t be better and I’m glad that we are upping the ante against our competitors,” said Jhony Negron, lead retail consultant at the Club Cicero store.  “Our network and motivation in Chicago has improved and we’re getting better than ever. We can feel it and see it, and most importantly, so can our customers.”
