Sprint partners with CTIA and ConnectSafely.org to create the “Parents' Guide to Mobile Phones”
By Maureen CooneyDigital parenting can be the difference in making sure that your family experiences the full benefits of mobile technology. That experience should be safe, privacy protective and secure for users of all ages.
Sprint has worked with CTIA and ConnectSafely.org, as well as other wireless carriers to create the Parents’ Guide to Mobile Phones – a guide to help parents navigate the world of wireless services, devices and applications so they can talk with their kids about safe and responsible mobile wireless use.
Online safety and wireless industry experts agree these conversations with kids about mobile devices and apps are a critical part of their positive mobile experience. With more than three-quarters of U.S. teens and a rapidly growing number of younger kids using phones today – for everything from staying connected with parents and doing homework to socializing, reading and playing games, wireless phones and devices are indispensable – and fun! But just like any powerful tool, learning about appropriate use and protections is important. The Parents’ Guide to Mobile Phones can help. Sprint helped create this guide because promoting safety, privacy and security education and awareness helps arm parents and kids with the information and tools they need to experience the full benefits of wireless technology.
The guide includes useful information including
- Tips for Smart Smartphone Users of All Ages
- Cellphone Safety Check List
- Is Your Child Ready for a Cellphone? (Check List)
- Parent’s Top 5 Questions about Mobile Phones
We encourage parents to download the guide by visiting Sprint’s 4NetSafety Site: www.4netsafety.com
