HUNTERSVILLE, N.C. – July 17, 2008 – NASCAR Sprint Cup Series™ tickets will now pay dividends for new and existing Sprint (NYSE: S) customers long after the checkered flag has dropped.
To help ease the sting of a sluggish economy and rising gas prices, Sprint introduced the “Switch to Sprint and the Race is on Us” program. Race fans receive a $100 rewards card by showing a ticket from any 2008 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race at any participating Sprint store. To receive the card, they must activate a new line of Sprint service or upgrade their existing handset through the Sprint New For You™ Upgrade Program.
“Creating added value for race fans through our sponsorship is an integral part of our commitment to the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series,” said Steve Gaffney, director of sports and entertainment marketing for Sprint. “With this program, race fans can turn their ticket into a $100 rewards card that can be used for anything from groceries to gas.” The national program from Sprint will run in participating Sprint stores through Dec. 31, 2008. Valid tickets include: Grandstand, Hot Pass, Cold Pass, infield/campground and suite.
