Sprint to Offer Gmail(TM) Through New Downloadable Java

                   Application and On-Deck WAP Site.

OVERLAND PARK, Kan.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov. 2, 2006--Sprint (NYSE: S) today announced the availability of the mobile version of Gmail(TM), Google's popular email service. Gmail(TM) for mobile devices will be available to Sprint data customers at no additional charge in two forms: a new downloadable Java application and access through a WAP site. Both can be reached directly from the Sprint PCS Vision(SM) or Sprint Power Vision(SM) home page.

The new Gmail(TM) application gives users fast, rich and synchronized access to Gmail(TM) from select Sprint phones. Once installed, users are just moments away from reading, replying to, archiving and searching through their Gmail(TM) messages. With Gmail(TM) for mobile devices, Sprint customers can even reply-by-call to people whose phone numbers are stored in their Gmail(TM) account. The application can be downloaded now on most Java-enabled Sprint phones.

"Google has always believed strongly in accessibility and great user experience, and with our sophisticated new mobile application, we're excited that our users have a powerful and easy new way to access Gmail from the mobile phone," said Deep Nishar, director of product management, of Google.

"Sprint is dedicated to bringing the promise of mobility to life for our customers, and by being the first carrier to offer access to Gmail for mobile to our users directly from our mobile Web home page, we're delivering on that promise," said Paul Reddick, vice president of marketing for Sprint. "Sprint customers now have the best way to access Gmail while on the go."

For mobile phone users who don't have Java-enabled phones, Sprint will also provide easy access to the Gmail(TM) for mobile devices WAP site in the coming weeks. A link to the Gmail(TM) WAP site will be found on the Sprint PCS Vision(SM) or Sprint Power Vision(SM) home page. The WAP version offers similar Gmail(TM) functionality through Sprint phone Web browsers.
