Sprint and Rowe International Team to Provide Instant Music Selection Downloads to Jukeboxes Nationwide
OVERLAND PARK, Kan.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 11, 2008--Enjoy hearing the latest songs on the jukebox at your favorite bar or restaurant? Rowe International, the number one manufacturer of commercial and home jukeboxes, and Sprint (NYSE:S) are making this happen through the use of Sprint Mobile Broadband, the nation's largest mobile broadband network.
"We're pleased to be able to offer Sprint as an option for AMI powered Jukeboxes," said AMI technical service director, Gordy Anderson. "We've heard from operators that they need speed, good coverage and reliability when considering broadband providers; Sprint provides all three. Sprint and AMI Entertainment both consistently show leadership in new technologies, and strive to provide excellent service to their users, making this partnership an excellent option for our operators."
Rowe International manufactures digital jukeboxes, which now are powered by a Sprint Mobile Broadband connection card in conjunction with a wireless router, both of which are built into the jukebox. Rowe's network of distributors can offer Sprint Mobile Broadband service packaged with the jukebox to offer an easy solution at an affordable price to meet the music needs of bars, restaurants and entertainment venues nationwide.
"The ultra-fast speed of Sprint Mobile Broadband and the industry-leading jukeboxes by Rowe International is a natural combination. It allows owners to easily download music whenever they want Rowe's catalog of hundreds of thousands of songs so the latest and greatest tunes are playing for their customers . . . a great example of Sprint delivering on the Now Network(TM)," said John Dupree, vice president of enterprise and federal government sales, Sprint.
The Sprint Mobile Broadband Network (inclusive of data roaming) reaches more than 248 million people, 15,771 cities and 1,505 airports, with upgrades to EV-DO Revision A technology on most of the network.
