Sprint Announces Additional Keynotes, Panels and Breakout Sessions for the Sprint Developer Conference

Keynote addresses from Sprint, Intel and Google; Panel discussion led by IDC; Breakout sessions include Sprint ID, monetization, M2M, 4G, mobile apps and business solutions

OVERLAND PARK, Kan. (BUSINESS WIRE), October 13, 2010 - Sprint (NYSE: S) is hosting its 10th anniversary Sprint Developer Conference Oct. 26-28 in Santa Clara, Calif. The three-day conference will deliver valuable insights and support from a strong cross-section of leading mobile platforms, including Android, RIM and Windows Mobile, and will provide hands-on coding sessions, breakout sessions, event sponsor exhibits and networking opportunities for developers. In addition, the conference will address enterprise and M2M business solutions, development for Sprint ID, approaches to make developers more profitable, 4G technical/development resources and more. Sprint CEO Dan Hesse will deliver the keynote address on Oct. 27. Additional speakers are Danny Bowman, president-Integrated Solutions for Sprint; Paget Alves, president-Business Markets Group Sprint; Doug Fisher, vice president-Software and Solutions Group, and general manager-Systems Software Division at Intel; and Michael Lock, vice president-Enterprise Sales for Google. The speeches will focus on how the growing enabling capabilities from Sprint and the core partners in the ecosystem will provide more opportunities for developers to monetize their solutions and for businesses to improve productivity, lower costs and grow revenue.

Sprint ID

Sprint recently announced Sprint ID, which allows consumers and business customers, on select Sprint devices, to quickly customize their mobile experience with an ID pack, complete with apps, widgets, ringtones and wallpapers. Sprint ID will give developers an opportunity to easily reach consumers and business customers with the apps they need or value most.

Developers will realize several benefits by participating in the Sprint ID ecosystem, including:

  • An additional distribution channel for applications and services
  • The ability to improve the search and discoverability of Android apps and services
  • The chance to offer an end-to-end customized user experience

The Sprint Application Developer Program will offer support to developers for Sprint ID through the developer website at http://developer.sprint.com/sprintid. During the conference, Sprint ID will be featured in breakout sessions, discussed during the Android coding lab, and demonstrated in the exhibit hall.
