Sprint Customers in Montgomery Can Now Experience Faster Mobile Broadband Service
Extended network coverage and faster data speeds with Rev. A allows Internet access in seconds and other benefits of SprintSpeed™
MONTGOMERY, Ala. - January 9, 2008 - Sprint (NYSE: S) customers in Montgomery can now do more with wireless thanks to a faster mobile broadband network from Sprint.
Sprint Mobile Broadband with EV-DO (Evolution – Data Optimized) Revision (Rev.) A technology, combined with a wide variety of EV-DO Rev. A-capable devices, allow customers to send and receive email with large file attachments, access the Internet in seconds and enjoy streaming video and other real-time applications, as well as location-based solutions, on the go.
Sprint's expanded EV-DO Rev. A coverage is available in the greater Montgomery market including Prattville and Millbrook. In addition, EV-DO Rev. A also has been launched at the Tuskegee Institute. Other key locations with the faster mobile broadband network include:

In addition to launching the Sprint Mobile Broadband Network in Montgomery, Customers can experience the EV-DO Rev. A speeds in Alabaster, Bessemer, Birmingham, Center Point, Homewood, Hoover, Huntsville Business District, Jasper and Vestavia Hills.

The vast majority of the Sprint Mobile Broadband Network has been upgraded to EV-DO Rev. A technology. On average, customers using EV-DO Rev. A experience significantly faster upload speeds of 350-500 Kbps (compared with 50-70 Kbps on existing EV-DO Rev. 0 networks) and download speeds of 600 Kbps-1.4 Mbps (up from 400-700 Kbps.) on the Sprint Mobile Broadband Network. Sprint Mobile Broadband (EV-DO Rev. A-capable) Devices
Sprint offers a variety of EV-DO Rev. A-capable devices including PCMCIA cards, Express Cards and USB modems. Sprint also offers a variety of laptop cards, handheld computers and modules embedded with EV-DO Rev. A technology.
Sprint customers using select EV-DO Rev. A-capable devices can perform location-based searches that offer navigational support. With these select devices, basic Sprint location and search usage is included as part of Sprint's flexible data and unlimited data connection card plans.
In an effort to provide customers the best value in wireless broadband, customers signing a two-year Sprint subscriber agreement can receive unlimited data usage for $59.99 per month (no separate voice plan required and no additional discounts apply.) Other individual service plans for mobile broadband devices range from $39.99 per month for 40 MB to $79.99 per month for unlimited data usage with a one-year subscriber agreement.
