Sprint Delivers the Power of Mobility, IP and Convergence to Federal Agencies
With 18 years of experience as a GSA telecommunications provider, a proven history of innovation, secure solutions, and a dedication to service, Sprint offers agencies a seamless and interoperable communications environment. Sprint gives agencies the power to meet today's communications challenges, such as upgrading enterprise architectures, orchestrating the convergence of disparate technologies and networks, mobilizing the workforce, and ensuring business continuity and responsiveness during emergencies.
"Sprint has built its success on being a telecommunications pioneer in the federal arena, and winning the Networx Enterprise contract, which is aligned with our forward-looking corporate strategy, now validates our continued strong commitment to the federal marketplace," said Gary Forsee, chairman and chief executive officer of Sprint. "Our assets include some of the nation's most extensive wireless and wireline networks, ensuring that information can be delivered when and where it's needed. We have created platforms for technical development specifically to enable rapid deployment and customization of enterprise-level applications."
Sprint has been preparing for this award for more than two years, creating special tools that will provide a flexible, well-planned, smooth and cost-effective transition from FTS to Networx. An experienced team dedicated to transition planning will work closely with the agencies to plan and execute their transition requirements. This team will include Sprint personnel who already work with the agencies today, thereby offering continuity and an established understanding of their needs. With the support of these dedicated professionals, the transition team will ensure that large projects are delivered on time and within budget. In addition, the newly enhanced, fully integrated interactive Web portal from Sprint will allow the agencies to access ordering, tracking, inventory, billing and reports 24x7.
"Our proposal brought together Sprint's converged wireline and wireless assets, including a full suite of IP services supported by both our CDMA EVDO Rev. A and 4G WiMAX wireless platforms for a truly integrated access solution at very favorable costs. This gives agencies the power to move to the next level of communications and be even more responsive to their constituents," said Tony D'Agata, vice president, Federal Government - Public Sector for Sprint. "Sprint has enjoyed strong working relationships with GSA and the federal agencies. This new contract will provide a platform to bring future technological developments to the marketplace and help drive agency productivity enhancements."
With Networx, agencies will continue to benefit from Sprint's powerful communications services, including a Tier-1 IP backbone with IPv6 services, integrated wireline and wireless managed services, robust wireless networks, and innovative voice products to help provide faster, more secure, collaborative communications between agencies and with businesses and consumers. To meet the ever-expanding requirements of federal agencies, Sprint has aligned with selected proven partners, including many small and medium-sized businesses, to create a powerhouse team most capable of delivering on the possibilities of tomorrow.
