Sprint Joins Forces with the White House; Pledges to Hire 2,500 Veterans

Company furthers commitment to support veterans, active military personnel and their families

OVERLAND PARK, Kan. (BUSINESS WIRE), May 05, 2016 - Sprint (NYSE: S), a company widely recognized for its commitment to hiring military veterans and their families, today announced that it plans to hire 2,500 military veterans during the next five years as part of Joining Forces, a White House initiative aimed at expanding employment and career development opportunities for veterans and military spouses. Sprint is one of more than 50 leading U.S. telecommunications and technology organizations that pledged to hire a combined 100,000 veterans or military spouses by the end of 2021.

Sprint’s military recruitment program focuses on hiring veterans, members of the Reserve and National Guard, as well as active members in the military and their spouses or other family members. Additionally, Sprint assists veterans in their transition to the civilian workforce through the VETS (Veterans and Employees helping others Through Sprint) employee resource group (ERG). The VETS ERG provides professional development and mentoring opportunities and has more than 800 members nationwide.
