Sprint Nextel Powers up Las Vegas with Local Call Center Expansion

New Business Customer Care Jobs Part of Company's Continued

                Commitment to Improve Customer Service

LAS VEGAS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 11, 2007--In continuing efforts to enhance customer satisfaction and loyalty, as well as build better customers relationships, Sprint Nextel (NYSE: S) is expanding its existing Las Vegas-based business customer call center by approximately 200 employees within the first half of 2007. This is in addition to the more than 400 employees Sprint Nextel already employs at the Las Vegas call center.

By expanding the Las Vegas call center operations, Sprint Nextel will now offer its business customers enhanced care support -- a more proactive and personal level of service from care representatives. The call center will eventually be equipped with specialized call routing capabilities that will enable business customers to receive quicker, easy, and knowledgeable service from representatives who are familiar with the customers' account histories and understand their specific business and wireless service needs. The center will provide all aspects of customer service to small business and corporate accounts, including general care and basic troubleshooting.

Sprint Nextel's expansion of its customer service capabilities in Las Vegas is one of several recent investments in the city including November's announcement of the roll-out and current availability of EV-DO Rev A, the company's fastest mobile broadband network.
