Sprint Recognized as Corporate Diversity Leader by Northern Virginia Urban League

Sprint (NYSE: S) recently was recognized by the Northern Virginia Urban League (NOVAUL) as a leader in the area of corporate diversity. Sprint received an Outstanding Corporate Diversity Leader award in the area of Community Service and Philanthropy.
"Diversity and community service are integral to the way we do business at Sprint," said Ralph Reid, vice president of Corporate Social Responsibility for Sprint. "We are honored that the Northern Virginia Urban League has recognized this, and we look forward to even more opportunities to act on our commitment to these key areas."
The award was presented at the NOVAUL 16th Annual Community Service Awards Dinner on Friday, April 7. Early this year NOVAUL contacted over 100 companies who have a major presence in Northern Virginia and invited them to participate in an online Diversity Leadership Survey. The survey covered areas such as CEO commitment to diversity, diversity in workforce demographics, diversity in promotion and pay, diversity recruitment and retention efforts, community service and philanthropic support to minority community based organizations. Other awards were presented to XEROX Corporation, EDS Corporation and Rodney Hunt, CEO of RS Information Systems, Inc.
