September 1, 2011 – As residents and business continue to recover from the effects of Hurricane Irene, Sprint appreciates the patience of its customers along the East Coast that may still be experiencing a disruption in their wireless service as a result of the storm’s impacts.
While there are continued impediments due to loss of commercial power, wireline outages, excessive flooding, and downed trees and power lines, Sprint has worked diligently in service restoration efforts and reports that 90 percent of Sprint cell sites that were impacted by the storm have been restored. Our team continues to work aggressively on completely restoring service to impacted sites by refueling generators, clearing debris and making repairs in areas that are accessible and safe.
