Oklahoma City Call Center to Add 150 New Jobs Center Hosting Job Fair Tomorrow
AUSTIN, Texas--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 17, 2007--Sprint’s (NYSE:S) Oklahoma City customer call center continues to play a critical role in the company’s focus on enhancing customer satisfaction and loyalty, and will be expanding the support it provides. As such, the Oklahoma City call center will expand its customer service staff. Sprint announced today that it is actively recruiting 150 new employees by January 2008. The effort to expand the call center, which today employs approximately 700 customer service representatives, is just one of many efforts Sprint has taken to put customer service at the forefront.
To meet its hiring goal before the end of the year, Sprint is hosting periodic job fairs at the call center located at 8525 Silver Crossing in Oklahoma City. A job fair will take place tomorrow, October 18 from 8 a.m. - 2 p.m. with other fairs to follow in the coming weeks. If interested candidates are unable to attend a job fair, Sprint is accepting resumes online at www.sprint.com/callcenterjobs.
By expanding the call center operations, Sprint is meeting current business needs to improve customer service. The new customer service representatives will assist Sprint customers with activations, account changes and a myriad of other service needs.
"The growth of the Oklahoma City center plays an important role in helping Sprint enhance the level of service we provide our customers. Our number one goal is to provide exceptional customer support and better serve our customers each and every time they interact with us," said Craig Sherry, director of the Oklahoma City center. "And, with Oklahoma City being a very small and tight knit community, we’re delighted to expand our presence and continue to invest in the community."
Sprint’s workforce expansion in Oklahoma City mirrors its investment in enhancing its Sprint and Nextel networks in Oklahoma to the tune of approximately $11.4 million during the first half of 2007. This significant investment included network upgrades, expansion and the addition of cell sites across the state. This year’s network investment is on top of approximately $29 million spent on the Sprint and Nextel networks in the state throughout 2006.
