Hiring to support company’s commitment to the market, its business priorities, and help deliver an exceptional experience to its wireless customers
RIO RANCHO, N.M., Mar 18, 2010 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- Sprint (NYSE: S), the second largest employer in Rio Rancho, is bringing more jobs - lots of them - to the market. With close to 200 positions to fill in its Rio Rancho Contact Center, the jobs are an economic boom for the city during a time when other companies have been downsizing.

Sprint is going to hold an exclusive on-site hiring event on Friday, March 19 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Rio Rancho Contact Center. The special event is designed for Sprint representatives to meet with interested job-seekers and for candidates to learn more about the positions. In addition to the Sprint event, the company will also take part in the "Gobs of Jobs Career Fair" at the Marriott Albuquerque Pyramid at 5151 San Francisco Road NE in Albuquerque on Tuesday, March 23 from 11 a.m.-4 p.m.

"These are increasingly difficult times for job-seekers throughout our country, so Sprint is thrilled to be able to provide career opportunities for many families in Rio Rancho and the surrounding areas," said Craig Jantzi, director of the Sprint Rio Rancho Contact Center. "We are exceptionally pleased that we’re also able to positively impact the local economy by expanding our center, all while servicing our customers with talented and qualified working professionals from this area."

The new hires will be offered competitive salaries and benefits, including medical, dental, 401(k), performance bonuses of up to $3,000 a month, free use of an on-site fitness center, and participation in Sprint’s employee wireless phone program.

Sprint’s Contact Center has been in Rio Rancho for 12 years. One of the routinely highest performing centers in the company, it was named one of the Best Places to Work in New Mexico in 2007 by the New Mexico Business Weekly. It has also been recognized for various community service activities including Dog Day Adoption, the Top 25 supporters in Central New Mexico of the United Way and the volunteer work its center employees do to support a local public preschool. In addition, since 2006, the company has invested approximately $44 million in the state to enhance networks for area customers.

The Sprint event on March 19 will be held at the Sprint Contact Center in Rio Rancho. To register and receive additional information, call (505) 896-5420 or (505) 896-5418. To learn more about the positions or apply online, visit Sprint’s career center, and click on Rio Rancho, NM.
