With a tie in overall performance, and 50% off competitors’ rate plans, it’s a great time to switch to Sprint
December 15, 2015
Wichita, Kansas, December 15, 2015 – Independent mobile analytics firm RootMetrics® has just released a new RootScore® Report showing Sprint now has a #1 network in Wichita, Kansas, with a tie for 1st in overall performance, reliability, call and text.
This is the first time Sprint has received the Overall RootScore Award in Wichita. Contributing to this win was Sprint’s improved network speeds and call performance. RootMetrics found that Sprint had the fastest median download speed in the market at 24.4 Mbps, up from 12.5 Mbps since the previous test in March 2015 – a 95% improvement. As for call performance, Sprint recorded zero blocked or dropped calls during testing.

“Delivering a great mobile experience is our top priority and we’re proud to provide Sprint’s hometown neighbor with an exceptional network. With blazing fast speeds and tremendous overall performance, it’s a great time to give our network a try.”

Mike Hennigan, Regional Vice President, Network

A Top-Ranked LTE Plus Network in Wichita
RootMetrics drove a total of 685 miles and conducted 14,336 tests in Wichita. During testing RootMetrics was able to experience Sprint’s newly deployed carrier aggregation technology on the 2.5GHz spectrum band. This feature of Sprint’s LTE Plus network essentially creates a wider lane that allows more network traffic to travel at higher rates, enabling Sprint to provide Wichita customers with even faster data speeds.
In addition to deploying some of the most advanced technologies in wireless, Sprint has relentlessly focused on expanding and fine-tuning the network in Wichita. In the past year, the company added new 2.5GHz service to the majority of its cell sites, including those in the downtown Wichita area. In addition Sprint increased its 1.9GHz service for broad 4G LTE coverage and increased its 800MHz service for better indoor service. Sprint’s network teams also systematically optimized each cell site to maximize overall performance, coverage, capacity and speed.
