As senior vice president of Strategy at Sprint, Yuriko Ishihara seeks to identify and leverage Sprint’s unique opportunities and abilities to help the company win in the marketplace. Yuriko unites finance, technology and market intelligence to help shape and communicate a comprehensive go-forward corporate vision and enable its operational implementation.
Before joining Sprint in 2017, Yuriko worked for SoftBank Group in a variety of executive positions serving the Japanese mobile business. Her roles included head of Investor Relations; finance operations lead for Network, IT and Product; director of treasury at Vodafone Japan, leading the refinancing of $12.5 billion related to SoftBank’s acquisition of Vodafone Japan; and director of FP&A at SoftBank Mobile. She also played an integral part in SoftBank’s pre and post-acquisition of Sprint Corporation, reporting to SoftBank Group CEO and visionary Masa Son.
Prior to working in the wireless industry, Yuriko was a portfolio manager at a major Japanese institutional investor. During that time, she managed Japanese and U.S. equity portfolios, performed financial market research and forecasting, monitored real estate investment in France and the U.S., and managed asset allocation and advisory services for pension funds.
Yuriko has an Abitur with distinction from Gymnasium Rissen in Germany, an LL.B. from Kyoto University (where she also was on the varsity ski racing team) and an MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business.
