When I think of all the veterans who are serving and have served and defend the freedoms and liberties we enjoy every day, I pause and thank them for their selfless act. As a veteran, I learned the values and principles that this country represents and that’s why I’m grateful for the commitment that Sprint and my coworkers show every day and every year for Veterans Day. To show our appreciation this year, we’ve put together activities across the country.
Help Sprint show its support of the U.S Armed Forces with a simple tweet. Now through Nov. 12, for every tweet using #SprintSalutesVeterans, Sprint will make a $5 donation (up to $100,000) to Fisher House Foundation, an organization that provides military and veterans’ families free, temporary housing close to a loved one during hospitalization for an illness, disease or injury. Let’s show our appreciation and raise money at the same time.
Join us Nov. 8 in Kansas City for our Veterans Day Celebration
Sprint is honored to host the largest Veterans Day event in Kansas City at our campus headquarters. For those in the area, please join us to celebrate our military and veteran families during our annual Veterans Day celebration from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 8, at Paige Field. You’ll be able check out some historic military vehicles and aircraft onsite, witness an inspirational flyover and you can even watch landings of military aircrafts. We’ll have Kansas City athletes, local mascots and activities planned. So make sure you bring your family along to this event or follow @Sprint_Veterans on Twitter for live tweets throughout the event.
Activities across the regions
Personally, I’m happy to join more than 200 employees across the South Region to show our appreciation and respect those who have died protecting our freedoms by volunteering in local national cemeteries to clean headstones and plant flags in preparation for all the visitors and family members who will pay their respect to these brave service members. There are many similar activities in other regions so make sure you check with your team and volunteer. This is just a small token of our appreciation to those who have served.
You can visit sprint.com/military and see other ways how Sprint helps veterans. My warmest thoughts are with veterans and their families on this day and every day. Thank you for your service.
